Home Depot: Federal Way, WA
Home Depot Commercial Application: Federal Way, WA This is a 1.2 acre application of Soil Guard® done around the new Home Depot store in Federal Way, WA. General Information Location -- Federal Way, WA The store is perched on a hill west of I-5 and south of SR-18. It overlooks Eagle and Costco stores located at the same intersection. The wrap around slope is 2.5:1 with north and west aspects. The soil type was clay loam with approximately six inches of top soil to support trees, shrubs and grass. An underground sprinkler system is in place to assure growth of plants and grass. The Soil Guard® application was done by Arman Kluhe of Emerald Hydroturf on August 26, 1994. The first application as specified was a hydroseed mixture of wildflowers. Soil Guard® was placed on top of the hydroseed with a grass mix and fertilizer. In addition to the irrigation system approximately 20 inches of rain fell on the project. One heavy rain in September exceeded 1.5 inches in 24 hours. The success of Soil Guard® at this site has exceeded all expectations. No erosion apparent anywhere and a four-inch tall lush green carpet of grass covers the entire project. About 20% of the wildflowers have germinated this fall adding colorful beauty to the slopes. |
